Printing to PDF has problems

Open raulgrangeiro opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

This issue is unique.

  • [X] I have used the search tool and did not find an issue describing my bug.

Operating System

Linux (DEB package)

Version information

8.0.1.31

Expected Behavior

When using a selected text to print only that or export a PDF with that selected text on Sheets it prints only what I selected.

Actual Behavior

When you select a text to print only that to a PDF it prints everything on the Sheet and even things you had previously erased from the Sheet. It's completely bugged.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Open a Sheet you had previously created on Microsoft Excel with things written on there.
  2. Edit it ereasing something it was there previously
  3. Write new things
  4. Select just part of the things on the sheet.
  5. Go to the printing section and select to print the selection
  6. Export to PDF

Hello @raulgrangeiro! I think you have two different problems:

  1. When printing a selected area in PDF, the entire sheet/book is printed - this is a known bug #63002, I added your problem to it
  2. Printing deleted text, objects - I could not reproduce this problem; after deleting objects on the sheet, they were also missing from the printed PDF. Please create a separate issue for this problem, because we need additional research on this problem and a separate bug. Thank you for contacting us, have a nice day!

+1 on Fedora 40 with Gnome and Wayland. Tried both RPM and Flatpak versions and many setting tweaks, nothing helped.

  1. Exact same issue.
  2. I don't know about this one.
  3. The printing preview is always good, but the outcome is messed up. New page breaks appear + I have all other sheets attached to the sheet I wanted to export/print.

Any update will be more than appreciated! Thanks for the great work you do!
