Multiple window selection

Open mars0202 opened this issue 5 years ago • 2 comments

Ex use case: Want to record two simulator iPhone windows interacting with each other in real time but do not want to capture background or get the window shadow.

Not sure if this is feasible but would be awesome and would separate Gifox from any other screen recording tool on the market. Current workaround is using the free selection which is dirty but gets the job done. This would make recordings look so clean!

This is an interesting use case! It's definitely feasible, but there are a few things we would need to figure out, for example, how to arrange windows in the recording and how to handle them being moved or resized. I'm gonna keep this open and we'll give it more thought later after sorting current priorities. Feel free to throw more ideas or comments on this!

Awesome! Thank you! I think what may be easiest is just outputting two gifs. Then the user may do whatever they would like. I know I would just format them side by side on a md file for example. I think that would be awesome to start of with and would be killer on its own.

In terms of them being in one gif, perhaps using order of selection as an indicator of which windows comes first from left to right or top to bottom with an option to enable padding that's hopefully adjustable. Figuring out what to do if the window is moved or resized would definitely be challenging and interesting to figure out. I would assume that the gif dimensions would be the max length and width. This would really be going above and beyond if implemented.

I know I would personally be willing to buy you all a coffee for the multiple gif option and a few coffees for the one gif implementation. 🍻
