At a blind guess, perhaps the note playback is based on C4 when it should be A4. I'll try and play around with it tonight.
Hmm, it looks like the soundfont itself is note-accurate after all. Seems the issue might be with how timidity uses it?
I'm on Windows 10. Also, the sdl12compat build detects everything just fine
