Prevent overriding title with random video names

Open wil93 opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

When listening to music on Spotify, sometimes I open a video within Telegram (native mac app) and this causes MusicBar to override the name with the video file name:

Sometimes the name is fixed after the video stops, sometimes it doesn't and even restarting MusicBar doesn't fix the issue.

Would it be possible to have the option to use only Spotify as the source for the MusicBar, ignoring all others?

Same thing with opening a youtube video in Firefox while Music is playing. The MusicBar song title gets replaced by the youtube video name, which I have no need to see, since I'm watching it. I don't play music from the browser. When the video is done, and I close the browser tab, the MusicBar title is empty, and stays that way. I have to switch to the Music app, pause it, and then play again, to get the song title back.

An alternative to an option to choose just one app as the source, would be the ability to exclude specific apps.

A partial workaround for Firefox is to set in about:config - media.hardwaremediakeys.enabled - false.
