feature request: queue files in directory and play selected
there is a behavior in billy mp3 player (windows) which queues files in directory and plays file i double clicked. any chance to have this in deadbeef?
Hello. There would probably be a non zero chance of that, but from your description it's impossible to understand what needs to be added.
doubleclick on mp3: deadbeefs opens with a playlist containing all mp3 in that folder and plays the mp3 doubleclicked. i think i explained well enought.
double click in file manager?
yes
ok, thanks for explaining. I don't know whether anybody would pick it up and add it, but asking doesn't hurt :)
If anybody works on this:
- This has to be configurable, and not change the default behavior
- It should probably be a new command line option
- It should be considered to make this action available as an option for the media library double click
One problem that I could foresee about this, is that linux file managers are not that configurable -- they just use the commands from the application's .desktop file. But I'm not sure whether they allow to select any command from the .desktop file as default for double-click.
daedbeef just has to look into the folder of the opened music file if there is more.
If the file managers don't allow to configure that -- then this would have to be a configuration setting in deadbeef, about how to handle command line input.
@DocMAX it's not about what deadbeef should do -- it's about how to make this behavior configurable, without changing the existing default behavior.
