Option to disalbe automatic server start when double clicking an instance

Feature Request:

Option to disalbe automatic server start when double clicking an instance

Feature Information:

When you are on the instances overview where you can see all instances doubleclicking to open an instance always also start the instance if it isn't started, it would be nice if there is a option to disable that feature since most of our amp user always double click to open an instance and not right click -> manage.

This is impossible to achieve since when you manage an AMP instance it is using the started instance. Perhaps, you're wanting something other than what you're asking for?

Of my Bad I used start server and start instance as the same.

What I mean is when I double click on a active Instance it always starts the server if the server is offline (Minecraft)

I want to double click an instance and manage it without starting the game server each time I double click it.

Double clicking on an instance to manage it is way easier than right click and select manage, but it always starts the gameserver.

That's not normal. The instance is started, you double click, and the game server starts?

Yes it does that, image When I would double click on Enigmatica 6 Expert or Direwolf 20 It would instantly start the Game server.

The status would change from Offline to Online

image after double clicking on Direwolf 20 (Minecraft Modpack) The Minecraft server also starts booting up (console spam and after few minutes it's public)

Okay, I think there's a miscommunication here. The instance has to start (what you sent screenshots of). The game server doesn't have to start and is a configurable thing. Go into the instance and then Configuration->AMP Core where you'll see an option to choose what happens when an instance starts. Set it to Do Nothing.

nope still happening image set it in the instance and on the main instances screen

The Minecraft server is starting still after starting the instance? Can you do what you just did and share the log? So stop and start the instance, right click the instance, and View Logs to see the latest.

Oh no I think it applied after a F5 , that's fine. My bad. But then I would have another feature request. So far I always thought image Status: running also means that the minecraft server is running, could we have a second indicator there that tells you if the server is also active or in startup mode? Without needing to go in the instance?

ALainxD avatar Aug 11 '22 01:08 ALainxD

Like Instance Status: Running/Offline Server Status: Running/Startup/Offline

For space saving reasons, maybe it would be useful to have it show one of three options: Status: Offline Status: Instance Running Status: Server Running

Then you'd know if it only says "Instance Running" that the server inside isn't running.

Yeah that would be helpfull could also color code it differently, Status: Offline -Red Status: Instance Running -Orange Status: Server Running -Green

Not a bad idea at all.

This is more or less what's planned :)

Closing issue because it's not actually a bug per-se just a communication issue.
