Symptoms

• What are you trying to do? i am trying to install an Arma 3 Server instance
• What are you expecting to happen? The server to install, and i'm able to start the server and view the console
• What is actually happening? The Arma 3 server instance is refusing to install necessary packages or update when prompted

Reproduction

From a Clean install, i go to create a new instance of an arma 3 server from the instance manager. upon installation, i go to manage the instance, but the only button available is the abort button, and the console remains blank with a message saying "application state: Installing Components". i attempted to force an update by stopping the instance in the instance manager and clicking the update button, but this does nothing. reproducing this issue is easy, as the initial install doesn't work, and i've tried a few times

I tried running a server myself. Only difference so far, I'm using Debian 11. Tested with docker and without docker. Arma 3 doesn't need additional dependencies installed. The server runs fine for me. As noted on Discord you said you were not asked for credentials. AMP only asks for credentials if steam asks for it. As it asked me for credentials, I would assume it should ask you too. Maybe that's already the issue. I would suggest to create a startup script following diagnosing application startup issues I guess this way you will be prompted for credentials and the server can be installed.

The generic instance type has replaced this.
