Tracking popular school searches (name) and areas where uptake is highest (postcode) would be valuable to the department. Google analytics may be an option?

What is the user benefit?

One idea - we could record when people click the 'start new search' link and button (from #147) to see how often they are used. There might be a way to compare that with a number of searches people run to see if they are using the stuff we added in #147.

Thoughts on how this kind of research could be useful to users:

Assuming that the tool is useful to parents, we want parents to use it, and we want parents in all areas to have access to the system. Therefor we want to know (in a general sense, like at a postcode level) where searches are coming from. Perhaps increased outreach could be done in areas where usage is low.

We could also check for outbound links ('get directions' 'lookup nearby preschools', 'NAPLAN' results etc) to see what information is most interesting to people and that could inform future iterations (e.g. if everyone is clicking through to find preschools, maybe we make some effort to make that easier).

@Lilith-Palmer says @reekypete is working on this.
