Weird unwanted Chinese characters seen in Tableau server

Hi There,

When I use Tableau desktop, it looks fine. However, after I publish clickhouse ODBC from Tableau desktop to Tableau Server(TS) on Ubuntu. TS shows lots of unwanted weird Chinese-like characters. In data source panel, it seems okay. But saw it when workbook is opened. Does anyone have any idea or suggestion on the problem? Thanks a lot!

It looks like the Locale on your TS is different than that on the TD machine. It doesn't relate to the CH ODBC connection whatsoever.

You may want to set the Workbook Locale in the Tableau Desktop to (for example) File --> Workbook Locale --> English (United States) and re-publish the workbook to the TS.

I tried it and didn't help. Actually, those "Chinese" dimension/measure should not be there. They appear from nowhere.

Hi Kevin @chuang39

What version of Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server are you on?

What version of the CH ODBC driver are you using?

What is the Locale settings on the Tableau Server (they are visible on the Server Admin Settings page)?

Does the problem exists with other published datasources? Or it ties specifically to the CH?

@yurifal Hi, i got a problem.i am tring to make some report by MSSQL Reporting Service and i did connect my CK database with ODBC,but the Chinese word can't show correctly.What can i do? Hope for your help,thanks! image image

i tried both of UNICODE and ANSI,and both of them doesn't work image

@Sam--Shan i couldn't help with that, sorry. SSRS is not my area of expertise (Tableau is).
