Ok, so two things, first a suggestion:

Since MANY do not have a static IP, then it's annoying to every time you reboot, to take out the SD card, edit the init, and put it back in, its really a hassle. How about you add in an interface like DDD's for example to go put in your IP address on application startup, it probably would be pretty easy too.

Second, an issue: When I go to close the app without a connection to troubleshoot, the screen stays black, so I either have to try to press something to turn up the brightness to reset, or just restart.

First of the IP, you could install the ftpd (https://github.com/mtheall/ftpd/releases), and use FileZilla on the PC, to access the 3DS FTP and thus edit the .ini file, more easily. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5MrPrGqYUc)

Second, that also happens to me, what I do is close the connection first on the PC, and then go to the HOME Menu, and I have the normal brightness.
