FYI: Colorado dumped case backlog May 12
Colorado on May 12 released 7,810 backlogged cases from earlier in the pandemic. Press release is here: https://covid19.colorado.gov/press-release/cdphe-to-release-a-batch-of-past-cases-from-the-winter-omicron-surge
Most reporting days had been in the 1,000-to-2,000 case range, significantly skewing a trend.
Colorado may still be dumping cases, but I can't find documentation on it. Every other week is like, 5k, 3k, 2k, 3k, 2k. Then the alternate weeks have been like, 5k, 3k, 2k, 13k, 2k.
What are likely dumps go back to May 12 and have followed every other Thursday.
