Cannot join ASWF Slack channel by myself

In the README.md it says:

This WG communicates on the following channels:

... ASWF Slack #wg-usd

But I cannot join without an invite, from what I can tell (I did finally join, getting an invite from someone I know already in the group). I would guess that there are good reasons to not just leave a Slack workgroup open, but it's a bit confusing to us "I join a Slack workgroup once every two years" types that read this page.

Maybe add some clarifying language, like how to ask someone for an invite?

@erich666 would the proposed change have made things easier the first time you tried to join the Slack?
