WOFF files are hard to obtain
Currently the only way to get WOFF files seems to be going to https://indestructibletype-fonthosting.github.io/jost.css and downloading them all manually. It would be super helpful (for the use cases where one can't rely on the very helpful hosting that has been set up) if these could be included in the download package like their TTF & OTF counterparts.
Yeah this is a good point.
I switched the file type for the web hosting a little while ago to normal .ttf files which is what I am currently using on https://indestructibletype.com/fonts/Jost.css. I did this because it's more convenient for me as I don't have to add more font files to my workflow, and I was having issues where the compression software I was using to generate the .woff files was deleting the extended character set.
However, this is an imperfect solution as using .ttf files for web-hosting is worse than using .woff files because .ttf files are not compressed and everything adds up on the internet.
The reason I bring that up is because the .woff files you are referring to are made using an older version of Jost*.
I think my own laziness is not an adequate reason to be using .ttf files, and so I will look into switching to .woff files for the web-hosting.
I do think making the woff files easier to download isn't an unreasonable idea, and one that I will look into, however I am reluctant to include .woff files in the .zip by default as web developers isn't really my number one target demographic.
That being said I will look into adding a "Web Hosting" section of the site that includes downloads for all the fonts as woff files, or perhaps allowing users to customize their download with check boxes so they can determine what they want.
All of that being said, that will take a little time to do, so don't hold your breath.
Good to know! I'm using Jost in the redesign for some course slides and we need to have the files included with the package (which is why I bring it up :P ).
If you would be able to let me know over on this issue when it eventually gets dealt with so I can update the files to the latest version that would be RAD and I'd really appreciate it, until then I'll have to settle for the old version which still makes our titles looks great!
