Pixel salad on collapsed arcs in the brat editor

Describe the bug

As discussed in #5772, I'm opening a bug report with attached dummy project to reproduce it. This one is visually fairly simple: when in brat editor, selecting the option "collapse arcs" in the cog wheel make the labels unreadable by the superposition of different ones.

Expected behavior For this one, I'm not sure what it's supposed to do, it has always acted like this for me. I'm guessing I'd use this option to reduce space between arcs? Or overlap arcs with the same exact label?
