Since a couple of weeks, it does not work anymore

Hello. It does not notify anymore until I open the Gmail account manually. Then it starts to show the message number again in the icon.

I tried uninstalling all the other extensions but it is the same. I've been using this extension for years without issues until a couple of weeks ago. I don't think I changed anything.

My Firefox version is 130.0 &4 bits. My Windows version is Windows 11 Pro 64 bits 22H2 22621.4037.

Thank in advance. I use this extension because I have a Gmail account that I don't get many emails so I don't check it frequently, but anyway I need to answer. I can get one email in a month, but when one arrives I need to answer ASAP. Today I discovered that I had received an email on August 26, which I had no idea I had received. I entered the account by mistake and I saw it. I was relying on this extension and suddenly it stopped working.

Does the toolbar button stays blue before the manual check?

There are two tests you can perform.

  1. Try on a clean profile (recommended). You can create a new profile and login all your Gmail accounts and only install this extension. Then Close and reopen Firefox and see if you get emails or not https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles

  2. You can use the inspect button on about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox and check the logs of this extension to see if you can find the issue.

note: recently the extension has been moved to manifest v3. Maybe the issue is somehow related to this migration. You can also try installing the older version from AMO

I added a new profile, and installed the extension, but the icon does not appear. Firefox made it really difficult to add icons to the toolbar, I don't know how to do that in the current version of FF. And the extension doesn't add it automatically. Should it have add it automatically?

imagen

In my old normal profile, I see the icon and yes, it is blue:

imagen

So now the question is: how do I put the icon in the toolbar? Thank you.

Click the extensions icon to open the panel and pin this extension to the toolbar

Ok, I pinned it. The icon works in this new profile, but it plays no sound.

In the options page, the button: imagen does nothing if I click on it.

In my main profile, the icon is blue and if I click on it, it does nothing.
