Acer C720 boots to blank black screen from live usb

Open danielisdaniel opened this issue 5 years ago • 1 comments

I used the first method + Camd64OS_R72-11316.B-Special chromeos_11316.165.0_peppy_recovery_stable-channel_mp-v3.bin swtpm.tar

  • balena on Ubuntu.

When I boot from the live usb, all I get is a blank screen, but I do hear the Chrome beeP welcome noise. The same usb boots successfully on a t430 thinkpad (but no Gplay or linux option...).

Since this is a real Chromebook and you are booting from USB I'm hoping it is in Developer Mode?

Try using the Camd64 Vanilla build because you already have hardware well supported by ChromiumOS and try using a recovery image from a newer Acer Chromebook as the hardware should be supported by ChromiumOS and the ChromeOS is just providing Android/Linux and Google touches.
