I have searched the existing issues, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate report.

The bug

Android App Version 1.132.3 build.197 cannot disable haptic feedback. The change does not stick. When haptic feedback is unchecked, then the page is backed out of, the next time Preferences is entered, it is back on again.

Cannot reproduce this on v1.123.3. Can you provide a video recording of the issue and logs, if there are some relevant ones in the app?

I found out where the problem was. The app was hung. While initially setting it up, I had turned on foreground and background backup services before it had done any initial sync. After doing so, I went into the settings because the timeline appeared to be loaded and I wanted to disable haptic feedback. It turns out that the backup process was hung in the background/foreground and therefore the state of the haptic feedback setting didn't enable. I noticed later the notification had not progressed (I'm sorry I don't remember what the notification said exactly, but something like preparing to backup). So I force closed Immich on Android, cleared the data, set it up again, and went slower on setting up the foreground and background backup services. Success. Not only did it start and continue the backup successfully, but the setting stuck. The report of this setting "bug" may have been hasty, but also there is another issue that I can't help diagnose since it's working after (the same steps as) a reinstall. It's up to you whether the bug with initial setup is diagnosed further, since my app is fully functional at the moment.

@DavidSpivey If this is fixed, please close the issue

@YarosMallorca I literally just said it would be left up to you (or if you are not the party in authority, the requisite authority) if the issue should remain open as there is, indeed, a remaining bug that I mentioned. I am not the one to close the issue. That determination should be made by the interested party based on whether further diagnosis of the remaining bug is warranted.

For me, I can disable the haptic feedback and the state of the switch persists. But when triggering a manual upload afterwards, I keep getting feedback for each notification that informs me about the upload progress.

On v1.134.0 server and v1.134.0 build.208 for the iOS app.
