Mac VR or Desktop support

Open jgwinner opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

It would be great if the compatibility matrix or a footnote mentioned iOS and Mac support.

I know ... I know ... but I have some clients that are asking for browser desktop support. It's not clear if/how that would be supported. Even if the answer is 'no' or with experimental browsers only.

My assumption is that the browser would show the 3D content without the 'enter into VR' button, although I'm honestly not sure of the state of enthusiast VR support on Macs (especially M chip macs).

Webkit are apparently working on a solution but I don't want to add any statements here until there is an official announcement.

Honestly, I was hoping it was just overlooked :(

Sure, pre-release software wouldn't be good to post.

Maybe a statement about "Under development" or something? I guess that might cause questions, but totally missing is difficult to explain to Mac fans. As I mentioned even a "no" would be good.

Anyway, thanks for taking a look
