edge being touched causing the mouse pointer to jump around

The issue with the Magic Trackpad's edge being accidentally touched: sometimes the bottom of my palm touches the edge of the trackpad, causing the mouse pointer to jump around. This problem doesn't occur on a Mac. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it possible to set the edges as a disabled area?
