Turning off mouse acceleration doesn't work

After installing the touchpad driver on a MacBook Pro Mid 2012 (MBP 9,2), the "Enhance pointer precision" option doesn't change anything. Unchecking the box doesn't turn off acceleration on the touchpad, only the mouse. Usually turning off "Enhance pointer precision" turns off mouse acceleration for both touchpad and mouse but the driver doesn't seem to recognize that. Is there a way to get mouse acceleration off for the touchpad?
