Works on USB but doesn't work via bluetooth
Hi, I installed the drivers and the rackpad works perfectly over USB but I can't find a way to make it work over Bluetooth. I followed the instructions but it still doesn't work.
Operating system: Windows 10 Pro 21H2 Magick trackpad (third generation)
I also followed these steps but nothing to do ... still not working ... some suggestions
Also checking I discovered that I am missing some divers and I do not know how to install them I do not see:
- Apple Multi-touch Auxiliary Services
- Apple Multi-touch Trackpad HID filter
I only have:
- Apple USB Precision Touchpad Device (User-mode)
What worked for me on Win11.
- Install driver. Now it works over USB
- Turn the trackpad off and on again. Now I see it in the list when doing a BT search
- Turn it off again, disconnect it from USB, turn it on again and try to connect it via BT. This time it was associated
Hi @oparoz , thanks for your help. Unfortunately it doesn't work yet. I'll explain... When I connect the tackpad to the pc via bluetooth it is paired and works only if I press it ... or if I move the pointer ... it doesn't click if I touch without pressing, it doesn't scroll pages, it doesn't have the "right click", no gesture works. Things that work great via USB instead ...
Do you have any other tips by chance?
Unfortunately no :(. Maybe a conflict if you're on a laptop? Everything works here and I can configure everything from the touchpad windows settings.
@oparoz It could be ... maybe the bootcamp drivers ... I just don't know which ones are to delete ... because I've always used those of the magic keyboard and the magic mouse ... while the trackpad I bought it only in the past days...
However no I'm not on a laptop but on an assembled desktop pc ...
I hope to find a solution soon ...
I have a similar problem. My Win 10 21h1 dell laptop. I downloaded release 3979 of yours. It does not discover the trackpad over bluetooth. If i connect USB, the trackpad works fine. Also as mentioned by @oparoz , when connected by USB, the trackpad appears in the BT list of devices. But as soon as I remove the USB, it disappears from the BT list as well. I tried the trick-steps mentioned by @oparoz but it was still not getting discovered on BT after restarting trackpad and BT.
I do not have any other trackpad drivers installed on my laptop.
For Bluetooth pairing no driver is required. Bluetooth pairing is fully handled by the Magic Trackpad itself and the Windows Bluetooth subsystem. If your Magic Trackpad doesn't pair as Bluetooth device, you most likely have a general Bluetooth issue of some kind. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your answer @MagicUtilities. As a wifi/bluetooth card I have a Fenvi T919 which can be used with both hackintosh and windows. I also did a test with a bluetooth usb stick but the problem persists constantly...
IT WORKS (for now) !!
These are all the steps I've done:
- Updated the drivers of my wifi / bluetooth card (Fenvi T919)
- PC restarted
- Uninstalled the following drivers
- From Human Interface Device (HID)
- All Apple Multi-touch
- From Bluetooth
- Magic Trackpad
- Connected the trackpad to the pc via cable
- Used for a few minutes
- Tried to connect the trackpad via bluetooth to the pc while it was connected via cable. (It didn't work could not connect)
- Disconnected the cable from the trackpad
- I turned off the trackpad via the switch
- Trackpad turned on
- Paring the trackpad via bluetooth
I honestly don't know what made the difference to make it work ... all of these steps I had already tried (not in that order I think). I will update you in case it stops working or in case of problems
Thank you, using just these steps worked for me
Disconnected the cable from the trackpad I turned off the trackpad via the switch Trackpad turned on Paring the trackpad via bluetooth
thank you so much @Piero24!!
To reset the Magic Trackpad, turn the power switch off and on five times. This finally worked for me after immense googling to no avail. This was reported here: Link
