Update to JUnit 5

The tests have been implemented using JUnit 4 and Hamcrest. In this task, let's update to JUnit 5 and get rid of the Hamcrest dependency, if possible.

Acceptance criteria

  • Upgraded to JUnit 5
  • Hamcrest dependency removed
