@mmarinaccio which environments do you run into this error? Do you have eager_load enabled on these environments? My guess is something changed between rails 4 => 5 with eager loading...

For me, I'm interesting mostly in keeping the lights on and incremental improvements. Resque works well for my use case and a rebuild wouldn't really add value in my scenario.
