The PC help link (http://nova.xzibition.com/~illuminatedwax/help.html) always gives me an Error 403: Forbidden whenever I attempt to access it. Either something went wrong, or the help page is currently set to some sort of private or invitation-only access, when it should be public. In addition, I've been having trouble connecting to... well, anything with PC from my desktop, and my current guesses as to why is that my internet access is blocking it (whereas I can use PC just fine on my laptop) , or that it's because my desktop runs on Windows 7. In the hope the problem is the former, I sought to follow the advice of README.mkdn. That file told me to open my PesterChum.js file and edit the port being used, but there is no such file anywhere in the PC installation folder of either my desktop or my laptop. While I've been having other problems from my desktop, these two issues are the only ones also relevant to my laptop, which makes me suspect that they aren't on my end.

The help page has been down forever and almost every build of the program leads to somewhere dead currently. No clue if it will ever be fixed. Pesterchum keeps it's data in the Local AppData folders on your harddrive. A quick google will tell you how to get to them.

Aha. No need for Google on this one: I just thought everything would have been in the program folder. Noting that it's in the AppData in the README probably wouldn't be a bad idea. That said, changing the port didn't help. I can't sign in (every time, I'm assigned a default value like my current pesterClient488) or switch users ("switch" button does nothing), I can't change themes (ascii codec can't decode byte 0xae (®) in position 11: ordinal not in range(128)), and I can't actually pester anyone or join memos (Join button prevents the "Memo" button from working, and Pester button doesn't do anything). Again, everything works perfectly on my laptop, but my desktop suffers from all these symptoms that I can't help but feel stem from the same root cause.

I think support for this app is a little hard to find, best chances are to check your Firewall, etc., for blocking certain ports, and if you haven't already you might try reinstalling the client.
