Video flashing in one Tony Hawk's American Wasteland

First, I love this mod! Thanks for making it! The only issue I have is that THAW is unplayable as the HDMI signal drops out every second or so. I tried 480i, 480p, enhanced DVI on and off, but no change. It still works fine over the analog AV connection so it doesn't seem to be an issue with my GameCube.

I play this game often and I haven't seen a single issue. I used to have video drop before on every game but I've bought higher quality HDMI cable. You can also try to clean the contacts with IPA and paint brush. Turn everything off while cleaning I even unplug from mains for ESD safety.

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, I've tried different cables and devices with no luck. I also found that it seems to do it randomly in some games, never in others, and constantly in THAW. I was doing some more research and I'm actually wondering if this is some kind of power supply issue where it just can't keep up between the original hardware (depending on the game's demand), Picoboot, and the Pluto board.

Not sure if it helps, but I got a bit more info: If I fire up the GameCube after a while, everything works fine for a few minutes, and then it gets worse after a little while.

May need to replace the electrolytic capacitors. It's usually backwards they work fine after they worm up not before.

Would that be the ones in the power board in the bottom of the system? I know that the ones in the disc drive can cause weird issues, but I'm playing from an SD card.

I think yes but also the ones in the power supply. Try to play with the disc drive removed, it may improve. But do not remove it while playing only if you can boot without disc drive.

Sounds good. Thanks for the input. I was debating installing a USB-C power mod anyway, so I might just do that to eliminate the old brick, and recap the internal power board at the same time.
