Rendering issues with center-aligned fonts

Open MUGEN-Slayer opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

A bug that was introduced in version 0.98.2. Sometimes the fonts will appear broken. In the titles of some modes, the fonts will be fine, but in others they will appear poorly rendered:

Tested with v1 and v2 (indexed) fonts. In smaller fonts they are more noticeable, but it is a problem that can be seen in any font. Apparently this only happens if localcoord = 640x480. Tried it in 320x240 and 1280x720 and it's fine.

Note: Although the image has been enlarged here for better viewing, the font is not using scaling in IKEMEN.

Here are some gifs with the comparison between versions 0.98.1 and 0.98.2:

Please follow issue template when reporting bugs. So upload screenpack that showcases the problem and post reproduction steps (exact resolution that should be used with that screenpack to see the outcome etc.)

Also what do you mean by "introduced in version 0.98.2". Was it not existing in 0.98.1, 0.97 or what version?

I don't remember seeing anything like this before. Honestly, it was the first thing I noticed when I migrated my screenpacks from version 0.98.1 to 0.98.2. It's a bug I could only observe using 640x480 as localcoord (and also as resolution). The first post has been updated with more information.
