Clicking fast forward too quickly makes the page go full-screen.
I used to be able to click on the fast forward button multiple times to adjust the speed quickly; now I need to click the button, wait a second or two, then repeat the process starting from 1.0 until 2.0; I am unsure what causes this change, maybe an update to chrome but it is a very subtle yet annoying change. Unsure if there is a way around this
@GitHubKermit40, is this on every site or only certain ones? I can't recreate what you describe on any that I've tried. This extension doesn't make anything go full screen so it seems like what happens is that you're clicking on the video itself. A double-click on a video will make it full screen on many sites. I don't know what would cause this though if you're not seeing the controller overlay visually disappear.
Thank you for your response. It appears to have self resolved. Not sure what was different from me clicking the overlay prior to this and after. It typically was happening on YouTube videos in a small window embedded on a website, not on YouTube’s site itself. Maybe it was user error. But I will be in touch if this mystery returns. Have a good one.

My guess is that the embedded video had something else overlapping the overlay so that was essentially putting itself under your clicks.
It's possible it wasn't even something visible or was hard to see. For example, a transparent gradient around the video edges to soften the border, the line where the title of the video shows which may "exist" along the entire width even where there isn't text, or something like that. Or it was the site with the embedded video doing something odd.
Hope it doesn't come back 🤞
