Keyboard shortcuts on Picture-in-Picture

Would it even be possible for the extension to allow its keyboard shortcuts to be available after clicking the Picture-in-Picture (PIP) window, on the video being played in the PiP window, even if its tab isn't the current one in its browser window? I suppose this would be rather be an issue to be dealt with by the browser devs? That would be neat, as i find myself using this extension shortcuts a lot when listening to videos, i would like to use PiP more but the lack of control is a huge issue for me.
