OK. We got firmware package and install logic per family and branch + override per board. How to organise fw files to make this work?

Looks fine for me. Now how to deal with exceptions and border cases - when one wants to deploy full armbian-firmware, where boards wifi might broke, but his 3rd party...

I would just note that build framework support patch series which allows getting things in order. Perhaps this way @Tonymac32 ? Example: https://github.com/armbian/build/tree/master/patch/kernel/archive/sunxi-5.15

ZFS builds on target with the same packages, but fails to build in the chroot. ```Loading new zfs-2.1.2 DKMS files... It is likely that 5.13.0-37-generic belongs to a chroot's host...
