Come up with a better name
LHTML is a mouthful, and it's 5 letters. Let's find something that's 3 letters and rolls off the tongue.
Some ideas:
.pffPortable Form Format.phfPortable HTML Format.pwaPortable Web App.hdfHipster Document Format.pwfPortable Web Format.watWeb Application Tome
.hiHTML Interchange.rohRegular Old HTML.wozWeb-Originated Zip.wazWeb Application Zip.zwaZipped Web Application.zahZipped Application of HTML.zapZipped App
👍 for .pwf and .waz
:+1: for .pff and .hdf
.web for web application
👍 for .pwf since this is similar to .pdf
:+1: for .pwf since this is similar to .pdf
Is that good? It will confuse users.
Is that good? It will confuse users.
How so? PDFs are common enough to be a common noun for non-technical users and they understand what a pdf is. If they see a .pwf file, I don't see them thinking it's a pdf. Most OS's use a specific icon for pdfs
Some criteria I've been thinking about (though it's not firm criteria, since PDF doesn't conform and it's an okay name):
- It should be easy to understand when spoken over the phone
- Perhaps avoid "web" because fiatjaf has a good point. Though the technologies being used came from the web, LHTML doesn't actually use the Internet/Web to function.
Maybe .hap for html application ? simple to pronounce, easy to remember.
