Why not set it up as a prefilter?

That way, it would out of the box work with anything that uses $.ajax.

@DaveVdE - apologies for taking 4 months to reply! It's been a crazy year. I can look into this - but it might be a bit, since I have higher priority issues to cover on postal.js and machina. If you want to submit a PR, this might get merged in faster.....
