Could implement a function to put the mome of the domain and the user has to fill in the name of the user so if you use the telegram to serve more than one site is easier to identify the source and facilitates the conversation, Email (if you need to send a file, since the widget does not yet have this file upload feature)

i think vice-versa.

its better if admin/owner can set nickname for the incoming chats. so user cannot cheat the identity since the admin himself that assign the nick. hope @idoco can implement this :+1:

Hi @nullifye , Sorry for being unavailable in the chat, I was driving :) I like the idea of admins setting the visitors names, but I'm not sure it go UX-wise for the admin. The only solution I thought of so far is adding a new bot system message /rename that will allow the admin to write the visitor id to rename and its new name. What do you think about this solution?

Exactly.

If an admin wanna set a name for the visitor, he should reply the chat with /nick lucy. Socket.io will filter any command that start with /command and skip updating the UI (or we can display a msg that inform the user that an admin hv set a name for him). Then store that nick into the localStorage for later use.

Since all chats is logged in localStorage, i think you should introduce /clear command for the visitor to flush out the chat from localStorage (in case he use public PC and dont wanna leave his chat history behind). Or maybe a button on the UI, which ever easier.
