Update version.known on merge

While trying to do this:

Update version.known

I encountered this error:

Now that authentication is required for code submits, updating the version is tedious

Some other notes:

It would be pretty handy if github could run a script to automatically update version.known on a code merge. Not sure if it's possible, but it'd be cool!

Github actions has just been enabled, and I've yet to get into it, but it might be possible to do something maybe with npm..
