Made significant progress on the current version of the Remote Assistant repository
I’d like to share an update on the improved version of the Remote Assistant, which I’ve enhanced with several hours of work. The following features have been implemented:
- Z-axis identification and drawing based on depth, ensuring accurate placement in AR.
- Upgraded AR Foundation to version 5.1.5 for better compatibility and performance.
- Improved JSON data parsing using NewtonSoft JSON, with data now being sent in a compressed format to save network bandwidth and stay data transfer payload size less than 1kb as suggested by agora sdk.
- Implemented resolution mapping, enabling the app to work seamlessly across devices with different aspect ratios. The AR app now can runs on portrait devices, while the Helper app supports landscape mode or varying resolutions.
Overall, I feel the app now provides a better testing experience, surpassing the features offered by Chalk.
If anyone is interested, feel free to connect here!
Thanks, Dhruv Modh
@icywind I’ve created a thread for the above update, which might help anyone looking for this information. Feel free to close it if needed.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. If you can make a PR and make them available, that would be awesome!
Currently, I’m still working on some additional improvements(like port agora sdk current version of the Agora SDK to the latest one.). I've already spent a lot of time on free time to making these changes and making them as best functional as possible. I need to decide whether to release it to the public now or wait.
