Prepare material for seminar

Task description

We will hold an internal seminar on creo2urdf but first we need to prepare the material, presentation/demonstrations.

We can then upload the material to the repo as documentation.

Today @mfussi66 and I had a chat on how organize the seminar. The idea is to do a 1hr seminar divided in

• 20-25 min of presentation
• 20 min of hands-on
• QA for the remaining time

We thought the presentation divided in these topics:

• The problem of moving from mech design to simulation
  • Matlab/Simulink -> simbody multilink plugin
  • Gazebo
  • Mujoco
• Old pipeline(simmechanics_to_urdf)
  • Pros
    • Multiple steps-> small changes does not require to open creo, but you can use python
    • Uses simmechanics xml that is still currently used, it contains all the mechanism information
  • Cons
    • Multiple steps
    • Rely on mathworks-> Creo9 bug
• Creo 9 Bug
• Creo2urdf Project (all the timeline with all the MVPs)
• Overview of mech guidelines (we could need an help from @Lawproto or @salvi-mattia)
• Overview of the yaml/csv parameters:
  • Speak only about the families of parameters
  • Mechanism supported/limitations
• Hands on
  • Creo2urdf installation
  • Play around with yaml and 2bars

We started writing down the pptx, we are at 70% more or less

Today I finished the slides that were left to be completed, for the mech guidelines I took the material @Lawproto did recently, @mfussi66 feel free to edit as you please.

We can close this activity, now @mfussi66 and I should arrange a date for the seminar
