Performance improvement idea: Introducé (de)compressor tasks?

Not a new idea I think but wat about multithreading support inside the streams?

We use a webserver framework nancyfx together with SharpZipLib to serve rather large files to all sorts of http clients. I noticed that the multicores server is not having ideal cpu usage.

I'm already busy with writing my own lib for gzip support. But I am verry curious to know if you Guy's having plans / ideas in this direction?
