Can't log in with a Microsoft account
Users who have migrated their account (or who bought Minecraft recently) are not able to use this software, since it only has support for Mojang accounts.
Information on how to use the new accounts for authentication can be found here. Since it is quite complicated, for now you could add "offline mode" support as a temporary workaround in order for people to be able to playtest.
There is an option @Ekain06 . Launch Stevenarella with these flags: -s "serverurl" -u "username"

That just launches in offline mode and immediately connects to a server, no?
@iceiix If you would be interested, please send me an email (see my profile) and I can provide you with a Microsoft authentication key for testing and development purposes using Microsoft Minecraft accounts.
For the rest of you I will be making a Patreon or similar funding scheme to finance general access (precompiled builds of Stevenarella for example with the ability to use Microsoft accounts) at some point in the near future.
So only Patreon will be able to log in with Microsoft Account?
Until I get enough funding to cover the costs of hosting such a service, yes. Regrettably I would be billed based on usage plus I would be billed $39/month regardless of usage.
With that being said, with a bar being relatively low like that, a few subscribers would cover the cost (as I'd be willing to cover some of the monthly cost out of pocket).

People who want to compile it themselves can just borrow the API keys from another launcher.

Do be aware that this is illegal and that the launcher whom you 'borrow' said keys from get billed based on use. No free lunch here.
No support nor instructions will be provided, please do not post on how to do such (as this breaks an EULA) and hence could get the project DMCA'd

I see no issue with someone doing it only for themself. It would be no different from them using the launcher the keys are from.
I am currently working on resolving this issue for the forked project Leafish.
Once I am done implementing it I'll try implementing it here. Lea-fish/leafish#243
