Very high RAM usage

Open singleaspringle opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

When I open up System Monitor, the Memory usage of gnome-shell adds-up each time I disable and re-enable the extension Dash2Dock Animated. If I disable and re-enable it enough times I get 80%+ memory usage.

I found out about this problem because I was getting random crashes of the whole system due to memory usage getting 99%. I believe this problem arises not only when disabling and re-enabling, but also when using the extension for longer periods of time.

I am using Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS, on Wayland with Gnome 46.

I attatched a screenshot with the gnome-shell events, system monitor in the top bar and gnome-shell memory usage in system monitor. image

Probably the only way the extension leaks that much is with icons. Do you experience any crash or errors ?
