opens a new window

After I added this dash2dock animated, every time I open an app using the dock instead of minimizing and opening it would minimize and open a completely new window and I had to right click every time and exit the new windows. But when I navigate to the dash2dock (not animated) it would minimize and open the previous window (as supposed). Someone please help me fix this
