@2sh ever seen Cytube? It lets a group of people share a "stream" (eg Youtube or of an MP4). The "host" can pause, rewind, fast forward, and manage a queue. There may be some way to integrate their code so we don't have to reinvent the wheel

Or ... just create a Cytube room and someone streams its output to Poipoi. Saw that done the other day. Worked quite well.

Consider that streaming video on the gikopoi2 server consumes more bandwidth/load than finding a way to "embed" an external media stream. Your initial proposal would be better for load balancing than gikos streaming videos to a room of 5, 10, 20 users, no? or 5 or 10 streams going on concurrently ... (hypotheticals)
