Missing install instructions for the dependencies MariaDB and Minio (either via cli or RHOS console

Open JanWillemSteur65 opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Feature and motivation

In MASCLI Github pages, please add the instruction (or a link to an instruction) how to install both MariaDB and Minio (when using local S3 Object Storage) as prerequisites to install the AI Broker. In the Official IBM MAS8.8 CI web site it is even worse. There it is instructed to open "just" a terminal (not even explained which terminal and where) and run the ansible-playbook command (not even addressed that you need to install python3, pipx and ansible first to get this working)

Usage example

See instruction as currently available:

Overview

This playbook will add AI Broker v1.0.x to an existing IBM Maximo Application Suite Core installation.

This playbook can be ran against any OCP cluster regardless of its type; whether it's running in IBM Cloud, Azure, AWS, or your local datacenter.

Install dependencies:
Install IBM Maximo Application Suite Core v9.x (~30 Minutes)
Install MariaDB (~5 minutes). **HOW? Missing instruction**
Install Minio (~5 minutes) **HOW? Missing instruction**
Install AI broker application (using playbook):
Install application (~10 Minutes)
Configure AI Broker (kmodels, tenant, etc) (~5 Minutes)

All timings are estimates, see the individual pages for each of these playbooks for more information. Use this sample playbook as a starting point for installing application, just customize the application install and configure stages at the end of the playbook.

With the pending re-launch of AI Service in the August catalog update we have streamlined the dependency stack for AI Service, removing MariaDb, and are in the midst of completely rewriting the AI service Ansible roles and installation process, so I will close this because the version of the AI service roles/playbook that it references is basically deprecated now/we know that it's not good enough, and the plan to is to rebuild it to get it fit for purpose in time for the next monthly update.
