Great! I've checked off cache prioritization. Because `isTainted` is a new additional to the public API, if we want to change the name, now is the time to do it....
The other thing on the to-do list on the top of this issue is "Split invalidate event between viewers". What's the status on that?
Okay, looks like #2816 took care of `isTainted` and the "split invalidate between viewers", right? I can check those off. So what's left is making the cache methods private?
