Every time a new release comes out, will the oracle client have to be updated?

Hi there,

I currently have Oracle instant client 18.5 installed on linux.

I am trying to upgrade to version 0.4.3 from 0.3.0, but there seems to be no version compatibility between releases.

Is it mandatory to upgrade the Oracle Instant client version to version 21?

Every time a new release comes out, will the oracle client have to be updated?

Hi,

Oracle client binaries are a real pain. Everytime the binaries have a different name.

I understand your concern but we don't have much solution.

In fact, the easiest way to run this exporter is to use the Docker image. If you don't like Docker, try to run it with Podman.

This way, you don't have to bother about binaries.

If your exporter machine have no access to public registry, export the image and import it on your local machine.
