[property-grid] ux-feedback

Copying feedback from UX ; will need to break this out into separate subissues. some we might not tackle at all

  • when a default value is changed, you have to bold the changed value so the user knows what is different from what they started with
Image
  • there is no differentiation btw a title for section, a label, and entered data
  • what is changeable by the user? when affordance changes, how can you indicate that to the user?
  • only the title of the entire dialog (the active tab), when then there is only one, shows in highlighted blue, when its is absolutely not needed to be a different color. overall the entire thing looks disable
Image
  • no visual indication that these fields are editable
Image
  • text is being cutoff despite excessive white space

  • The properties panel is difficult to navigate and often displays irrelevant information at the top, resulting in excessive scrolling due to its awkward layout and poor information architecture.

  • Modifying smart objects in general is cumbersome, as users expect to interact more directly with the model but are confused by the inconsistent editing behavior—some elements are editable in the model space while others require adjustments in the properties panel, leading to a fragmented and unintuitive experience.

  • There is no visible connection between graphic objects and their corresponding table parameters, nor any object-to-object dependencies or clear driver/driven relationships in highlights or selections. This forces users to rely on trial and error—often far from the objects they’re trying to affect—to understand the impact of their actions, leading to a frustrating and inefficient experience.

I don't think the last 2 are really for the property widget, probably they're more about the consuming app. But I do agree with the rest. I hope we can get UX advice on them.
