MATEKF405TE INAV 7.1 Quadcopter wobbles badly

Open Phil-MC opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Current Behavior

With 7.1 the craft wobbles badly even in POSHOLD whatever ESC PROTOCOL is selected (DSHOT 600, 300, MULTISHOT).

Steps to Reproduce

Take off and attempt to fly

Expected behavior

Take off and fly normally, even in POSHOLD

Suggested solution(s)

It flies smoothly without a wobble in INAV 6.1.1 without any hardware changes so there has to be some overriding pattern of ESC signals sent to the ESC which does not depend on the PROTOCOL. The frequency of the wobble visually is of the order of 5Hz. The default 3 inch quad on install was selected.

Perhaps @DzikuVx and @mmosca may have a look at this. I hope it is just a simple slip by me but since I saw another user on FaceBook reporting the same problem with the same FC I think that is unlikely.

In case it is relevent I will mention that WALKSNAIL AVATAR is installed and ELRS with TELEMETRY is used. I have a another board with similar limitations, the SpeedyBee F405 V3 BLS 50A 4in1 Flight Stack. This is in a 5inch and I have installed 7.1 on it. It flies smoothly without any problems using DSHOT ESC PROTOCOL.

The isssue was resolved by doing a complete new install including calibration. The only diiff-all transferred was non navigational. This appeared to be necessary due to the massive change in filtering which was introduced. The release notes should have warned of this when updating.
