Large delay receiving messages when in sleep mode

Conversations 2.10.2+fcr on lineage_FP3-userdebug 11 (18.1): When in sleep mode, messages are received with large delays (1-3 minutes). I suppose it has something to do with the "foreground service" option in the settings menu. But this option has disappeared. On another phone with exactly the same conversations version it is displayed.

That other phone has Android 7 or 6, right?

Did you also opt out of battery optimisations for Conversations?

The "other phone" is lineage 17 (based on android 10 as far as i know). And yes, battery optimization is disabled for conversations on both phones.

On my phone i had to configure 3 settings:

  • allow conversations to run in background
  • allow conversations to use mobile data in background
  • ...also in data savings mode
