Expose the last checked information

Open excalbian opened this issue 2 years ago • 8 comments

Description

It would be helpful to see when the device last checked in. The following is displayed in the Nest UI for the device (this is a device I removed to change the batteries on - it's been offline for about a day):

I'm not sure what is in the API payload but it would be nice to have this information available through the integration (which could then be used to build automations around devices that are "offline" after a while).

Device (optional)

Nest Protect Battery (Topaz-2.7 by Google Firmware: 3.4rc6 Hardware: Battery)

Additional information

Can you share a screenshot of your device page? Via the /integrations page? I would say that your device should show up as offline / unavailable in Home Assistant already.

Glad you caught me - I was just about to put the new batteries in and restore the device (haven't yet). Here's what I see in Home Assistant (other than the battery level, seems the same as my other protects that are online):

Could you press 'download diagnostics' and drag this file in a new comment?

Here you go. Note that I have already replaced the batteries (so the protect is back online) if that changes anything. I can take a protect offline this weekend if we want / need to do more testing.

I was about to request the same. Is it possible to add additional date sensors to make the last checked dates available in HA?

I had a similar issue just this week where a WiFi issue left the alarms disconnected for several days and their status on my HA dashboard never switched to "unavailable" or similar.

If you could generate a diagnostics file when the issue is present (and one when it is fixed), would be very helpful. @excalbian

Anyone that can provide these logs?
