The nature of this repository and Electron 33 compatibility
I have a copy of VxKex 1.1 from before vxiiduu's original repository got deleted. I would like to ask if this new repository is a clone of the original or a complete rewrite and whether vxiiduu's original and this new one are compatible with Electron 33 and Blockbench 4.12.2 which uses it.
Same.
You can compare the hashes for the installers.
Try it in a virtual machine.
... I guess I'll just update Blockbench to find out. I've updated it multiple times with VxKex 1.1 before, too, with which came multiple Electron upgrades. By the way, I had installed the original VxKex repository on real hardware.
Okay, so it works with my copy. But I still wish to know if this repo is a clone or a rewrite.
This repository is not a rewrite. It is a clone of the original repository. After the original repository was deleted by the author, this one was set up to preserve the legitimate releases and source code from the the original author, as well as to serve as a central place for discussing anything related to VxKex. All the releases and source code here come directly from the original author, with no modifications (except Version1.1.2.1428, see the release note for details) or additions by me.
BTW, I recall testing BlockBench 4.10 (or something close) for you in the original repo. You were the one always talking about running VxKex on actual hardware 😆
Thank you. Also, it's been a while since I've seen you and I'm kind of surprised it's you that's running this new repository. In fact, I had forgotten that you had tested Blockbench 4.10 until you reminded me.
In the original documentation, it said that Blender 4.0 (portable) works with VxKex, but does Blender 3.6 LTS work with it?
