Can't click on i3wm workspaces in i3bar

Welcome

  • [X] Yes, I'm using the latest major release or the current development version. These are the only supported versions.
  • [X] Yes, I've searched similar issues and discussions on GitHub and didn't find any.

Current Behavior

I can't click on i3wm workspaces with the mouse since v4.23 onward. I'm not sure what has changed since then. I'm using both the default and my own configuration for v4.23 and v4.24, but it still doesn't work. Currently, v4.22 is the only one that allows me to change workspaces with mouse clicks.

Expected Behavior

Allows me to change workspaces with mouse clicks on i3bar.

Reproduction Instructions

Click the workspace button on the left section of i3bar.

I don’t see a link to logs.i3wm.org. Did you follow https://i3wm.org/docs/debugging.html? (In case you actually provided a link to a logfile, please ignore me.)

This differs from issue #5744, which only involves clicking on the current/active workspace to go back to the previous workspace.
