When my mouse is moved to a window where a GUI programme is displayed, the cursor becomes invisible and stay invisible until i quit the session. programmes tested are firefox, wofi, files, gedit and many others. Thank you in advance. Edit: i am running it with WLR_NO_HARDWARE_CURSORS=1

Those all seem to be gtk applications. Perhaps you need to configure you cursor for gtk

This also happens to me with the latest git build from the hyprland-git AUR package. I have tried without and with WLR_NO_HARDWARE_CURSORS=1, and my cursor theme is configured correctly for GTK 2.0, GTK 3.0, and GTK 4.0. I also tried using lxappearance to set my cursor theme correctly, which does a GTK configuration. I noticed that it did exactly what I had already done manually.

I restarted my entire computer between each small change and test, just to be 100% sure everything was applied correctly. Still, the cursor disappears and doesn't return as soon as I open anything.

are you sure your qt cursor is configured too, and that you ran the gsettings command to update the settings?

I had already run this command: gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface cursor-theme aero. I'm not sure about Qt, but I tested with only Firefox and Nemo, which I don't think are Qt programs.
